February 10th E-Blast

Dear Milton Public School Parents/Guardians and Staff,

The Milton Public Schools will open tomorrow.

I would like to recognize and thank Milton’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Milton Public School employees for the extraordinary work, time and effort they have put into clearing the snow from our roads, parking lots and sidewalks. These employees have been working around the clock for days.

With the condition of the sidewalks, side roads and high snow mounds being less than ideal,  I am asking all parents/guardians to remind their children to use extra caution when walking to and from school and bus stops and standing at bus stops.

I would advise parents/guardians, if possible, to either drive or walk their children to school or to their bus stop.  I want to thank you in advance for your patience in waiting in drop-off and pick-up car lines, which will be longer than usual for the next few days. We will have extra staff outside of all of our schools to assist children getting in and out of cars at drop off and pick up times.

I have asked our bus company to direct bus drivers for the remainder of the week to stop and pick up children who are walking to school without an accompanying adult.

Thank you for your cooperation.
